  • Mary and her parents are spending a week at the beach. It's still March and rather cold, and it seems all Mary's parents want to do is relax inside by the fire. Bored, Mary sets off to explore the beach on her own. Suddenly a huge shaggy dog comes bounding up to her. He must be the Mystery Dog! Mary has read stories about him. He lives all alone at the each in a hut behind the dunes. Mary's parents don't believe he is real, but before long the Mystery Dog will transform their quiet winter break into a lively adventure.
